Grew up visiting this place since I was a child, such a beautiful place , lots of memories, staff great! but the amount of screaming kids and people letting them run wild is really a shame, I love kids , but there should be a seperate section? to be honest , i fully aware and understanding it is a family pub, but its the 3rd time now that not only myself has noticed thats its nuts! and I can't say we wont be unning back anytime soon, real shame.
Really disappointed with our experience on Saturday night. Been here many times for lunch and always leave happy. Got the feeling they feel fine about ripping people off. First of all we bought a stack of meat market tickets in the outside (downstairs) function area. We were assured they would bring the unclaimed numbers downstairs. They didn't. My brother was upstairs and he said any that were unclaimed were re-drawn. For the benefit of the locals I assume. Then checked my bank statement the next day. The scotch I was drinking went from $12 to $13, then $14 and finally $15. I assume they are rung through the register with the additional amounts being self paid tips. Never again.
Had lunch at Mount Kembla Hotel. Lovely spacious old hotel. The staff were helpful and friendly. Meal was nice with a good seion. Meal selection will change to the summer menu in a couple of weeks.
Food was quite mediocre even for the non-GF. Guinness pie (non-GF) was ordered by two of our party and nearly sent back, lumps of mince meat with very little taste. Pulled pork nachos had burnt corn chips on all 3 serves, very tex mex. Lamb shank didn't have much flavour, but the vegetables were great.
Nicely done up after all these years, great food again, bar service a bit who cares, food service excellent.
Good variety on the menu, great selection of beer and wines. Reasonably priced and generally friendly staff.
A great heritage pub with plenty of beers on offer. The outside sitting is great with good weather and the food is fairly good for a pub feed.
Lovely cacophony of foods available. Flavours and atmosphere have that old world vibe. Really nice dining experience 👌
